    Sancho Panza was introduced in 1852, by brothers Mariano and Anselmo Garcia of Havana, Cuba. At that time named “La Flor de Sancho Panza,” for many decades it was one of the most popular brands in Cuba. But under the Castro regime, the Garcia family lost its business and fled to Spain. In 1973 the name was acquired by the General Cigar Co., manufacturer of such brands as Macanudo, Partagas and others. In 1994 production of a new line of cigars was begun at their factory in Cofradia, Honduras. Sancho Panza cigars are mild to medium strength cigar that is smooth and creamy with a hint of spice.
